Eating French Toast on a gluten, dairy, and egg free diet can be a challenge. Finding a good tasting bread to start with is part of the battle. If you are one who prefers a thicker slice of bread for your French Toast, then you are out of luck unless you have a good gluten-free bread recipe to make your own. In trying to make a great tasting piece of French Toast without the use of eggs is the other issue at hand.
I count my blessings that I recently found a gluten and allergy free bread recipe that I have been able to use for all my recipes that call for bread. In place of eggs, I substitute blended GF firm Tofu.
Gluten Free French Toast
Ingredients:
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup Almond Milk
- 1 cup blended Organic Firm Tofu
- GF vanilla to taste
- GF Nutmeg
- GF Maple Syrup
Directions:
-
Preheat pan on stove over medium heat. Slice bread desired thickness. Whisk together blended Tofu with almond milk. Add GF vanilla to taste. Dip bread into mixture and place in pan.
-
Slightly brown on both sides. Place on plate and sprinkle sparingly with nutmeg. Drizzle warm GF Maple Syrup over top and enjoy your gluten, dairy, and egg free french toast!
